Two depleted Ellsworth Community College wrestling squads were leveled by a one-two combination Wednesday night in Centerville. The Panther women fell to top ranked Indian Hills 46-8 while the men were blanked by the No. 2 Warriors 50-0.

The visiting Panthers certainly weren't helped by a combined 12 forfeits out of 21 total weights.

The ninth-ranked ECC women opened the night with a big win in a battle of rateds in the first of just four contested matches. Sixth-ranked Melonie Barillas beat seventh-rated Jamiyah Blount-Taylor 10-4 at 103.

The hosts took the next five weights, including four forfeits and a fall, before the Panthers got their final win. Merdian Snitker, ranked 12th at 145, stopped Ruth Jimenez Batista in just 39 seconds. Top-ranked Genesis Gilmore was not in the line-up for the Warriors.

The rest of the dual belonged to IHCC with a pin and four more freebies.

The ECC men surrendered half the weights to forfeits in the nightcap. Only one of the remaining five matches went the distance, a major decision loss at 125. The Warriors earned falls in the other four.
