COUNCIL BLUFFS, IOWA -- Brent Greenfield led the Ellsworth delegation of 7 wrestlers at the NJCAA Division I National Championship.  Greenfield made the podium for the 2nd year in a row, finishing 6th at 184 pounds, after his 7th place placing in 2023.

Greenfield did some damage in the consolation bracket after he lost by tech fall in his opening match.  He had 3 pins and won major decisions by scores of 14-3 and 24-15 before dropping his final 2 matches of the tourney.

Four other ECC wrestlers won by fall after losing their initial matches.  Nick Koch pinned 2 opponents at 141 pounds.  Chris Compton (125), Triston Barncastle (165) and Giles Cowell (174) all had one pin in their respective weight classes.

Ellsworth finished with 23 points in the team standings.  Western Wyoming won the team title.  Iowa Central was 3rd and Iowa Western 5th.
