ESTHERVILLE, IOWA -- Seven Ellsworth CC wrestlers qualified for the NJCAA National Tournament with their performances in the North Central District meet at Iowa Lakes CC on Sunday.  ECC will send Chris Compton, Parker Hayes, Nick Koch, Triston Barncastle, Giles Cowell, Brent Greenfield and Kaleb Homan to next month's nationals in Council Bluffs.  The Panthers finished 5th in the team race at the district meet, scoring 74 points.  Iowa Central earned the team championship.

Greenfield finished 7th as a freshman at last year's national tourney.  All of the other 6 ECC wrestlers will be making their first national tournament appearance.

Ellsworth results at the North Central District Wrestling Meet:

125 - Chris Compton (4th place) - won by pin in his 1st match in 6:21; lost by tech. fall; won a 9-3 decision; lost a major decision in the 3rd place match

133 - Parker Hayes (5th) - lost a decision; lost by fall; won by default in 5th place match

141 - Nick Koch (4th) - lost a decision; won a 14-7 decision; lost by fall in 3rd place match

149 - Kael Glenn (6th) - lost by tech. fall; lost by fall; lost by tech. fall

157 - A.J. Buzynski (6th) - lost by fall; lost by tech. fall; lost a 5-2 decision

165 - Triston Barncastle (3rd) - lost a major decision; won by medical forfeit; won 15-7 decision in 3rd place match

174 - Giles Cowell (5th) -  lost by decision; lost by decision; won an 8-3 decision in 5th place match

184 - Brent Greenfield (4th) - lost a 14-12 decision; won a 12-2 major decision; lost a 10-5 decision in 3rd place match

197 - Kaleb Homan (5th) - lost by fall; lost by fall; won by pin in 2:26 in 5th place match

285 - Reidyn Serna-Ames (6th) - lost by fall; lost by fall; lost by fall
