MASON CITY, IOWA -- Ellsworth CC had 12 wrestlers compete at the Battle for the Helmet, hosted by North Iowa Area CC, on Saturday and 4 of the Panther grapplers finished in the top 4 in their weight class.

Brent Greenfield, wrestling at 184 pounds, and Triston Barncastle, at 165, both came in 2nd.  Greenfield received a bye into the semifinals, then pinned his opponent in 3:30 before losing a 9-6 decision in the finals.  Barncastle also got a first-round bye, then won 9-2 before losing 7-2 in the finals.

Giles Cowell came in 3rd at 174 pounds, picking up a pair of pins.  Kaleb Homan had a pin and a 21-4 technical fall on the way to a 4th place finish at 197 pounds.
