IOWA FALLS, IOWA -- Eight Ellsworth CC men's wrestlers were named to the Spring 2023 Academic All-Region teams announced by the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference.  The academic honor lists are made up of the 1st team of student-athletes with grade point averages of 3.5 and above, and the 2nd team of individuals with GPAs between 3.0 and 3.49.  A student-athlete's highest GPA was recognized, either their cumulative GPA or their spring semester only GPA. 

The Ellsworth wrestlers who earned 1st team recognition are Isaiah Laguna, Kaden Karns, Tegan Carson and William Tate.  On the 2nd team are Juan Isiordia, Mirzo Khayitov, Reidyn Serna-Ames and Sean-Michael Gonzalez.

Of those awarded Spring academic honors, seven were repeat selections from the 2022 Fall Academic All-Region teams.  They are Laguna, Karns, Carson, Tate, Isiordia, Khayitov and Serna-Ames.

ECC had a total of 101 student-athletes on the Spring Academic All-Region teams from 8 different squads.
