IOWA FALLS, IOWA -- Two-time wrestling All-American Mirzo Khayitov has been named the Ellsworth Community College Male Athlete of the Year for 2022-23.  Khayitov was 2nd at 165 pounds at the NJCAA National Championship this past March after finishing 3rd at 165 in 2022 as a freshman at ECC.

Khayitov, a native of Uzbekistan, was already a highly-decorated wrestler before arriving at ECC.  He was a 6-time senior national champion in his home country, a 2-time Cadet national champion, a 2-time junior national champion and a world team member.  Khayitov has committed to continue his education and wrestling career at Oklahoma State University.
