ESTHERVILLE, IOWA -- The Ellsworth CC wrestling team picked up wins in 5 of the 10 matches and earned 9 points in the final 2 matches of the night, but fell short in an ICCAC dual meet with Iowa Lakes CC on Thursday night, the Lakers winning, 28-25.

Kaden Karns got the Panthers started with a 17-2 tech fall win at 125 pounds.   After that, ECC fell behind when Iowa Lakes piled up 24 points in the next 4 matches on a pin and 3 forfeits.  Diego Isiordia got Ellsworth back on track with a 22-3 tech fall decision at 165.  Juan Isiordia followed with a pin at 174.  After Iowa Lakes won the 184 pound bout, Brent Greenfield of ECC recorded an 8-6 decision at 197 and Tegan Carson was awarded a forfeit victory at 285 to close out the meet.

The Panthers have their final dual of the season against Iowa Central in Fort Dodge on Feb. 1.  ECC will host the district championships on Feb. 12.
