IOWA FALLS, IOWA -- Seven members of the Ellsworth CC men's wrestling team were named to the Fall 2022 Academic All-Region teams announced by the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference office this week.  The academic honor squads are divided into two lists: the 1st team is made up of the student-athletes with grade point averages of 3.5 and above; the 2nd team is those individuals with GPAs between 3.0 and 3.49.  A student-athlete's highest GPA was recognized, either their cumulative GPA or their GPA for the fall semester only.

The ECC wrestlers who earned 1st team honors are Isaiah Laguna, Juan Isiordia, Kaden Karns, Tegan Carson and William Tate.  On the 2nd team are  Mirzo Khayitov and Reidyn Serna-Ames. 

Of those awarded Fall academic honors, three wrestlers were repeat selections from the 2022 Spring Academic All-Region teams.  Those three are Isaiah Laguna, Kaden Karns and Mirzo Khayitov.

Ellsworth CC had a total of 115 student-athletes named to the Fall 2022 Academic All-Region teams in eight different sports.
