IOWA FALLS, IOWA -- Ellsworth got three pins and an equal number of forfeit victories to pile up 36 points on the way to a 45-3 demolition of Iowa Lakes CC Thursday in the last dual meet of the season for the Panthers.
Zeth Strejc, Nathan Lendt and Mirzo Khayitov provided the falls for ECC while Diego Isiordia, Ethan Miller and Isaiah Laguna all recorded decisions in the Panthers' final tuneup before next weekend's Region 11 meet.
After receiving the first of its three forfeit victories at 125 pounds, the Panthers saw Strejc open a 6-1 lead before pinning Tyrick Clay in 6:12 at 133. Another forfeit (at 141) preceded Lendt's fall in just 32 seconds against Dontae Johnson in the 149 pound match. Isiordia followed with a 10-4 decision over Cael Langdord at 157.
Khayitov's pin at 165 was against Cole Knight of the Lakers, who then forfeited at 174. Ellsworth got back-to-back wins by Miller at 184 and Laguna at 197. Miller defeated John Colburne 9-4 and Laguna knocked off Trevor Kruse 5-0. The dual concluded with ILCC's Jacob Rahn decisioning Larry Everfield in the match at 285.
The Region 11 meet will be hosted by Indian Hills CC in Centerville on Sunday, Feb. 13.
