IOWA FALLS, IOWA -- In a dual meet that began with an Ellsworth win in the 197-pound match, it all came down to the matchup at 184 pounds between the Panthers' Jared Landsperger and Logan Koedam of Iowa Lakes.  Koedam pinned Landsperger to allow the Lakers to escape with a 26-19 win in Dittmer Gym Wednesday night.

The Panthers fought back from a 15-3 deficit on the strength of four straight victories: decisions by Ricardo Santana and Devan Martin, a first-period pin by Joseph Littrell and a major decision from Justin Henry.  Following Henry's major against Dallas Horne, the Panthers were on top, 19-15.  But Iowa Lakes got a tech fall and pin in the last two matches of the evening to pull out the win.

The opening match of the meet was one of the best -- Ellsworth's Jerell Belcher got a takedown with two seconds remaining to claim a 6-4 decision over Garrett Borth.  Iowa Lakes came back with pins in back-to-back matches to take the lead and then widened it with a decision at 133.  That's when the Panthers flexed their muscles with the four consecutive verdicts to put the score at 19-15.

Ellsworth goes on the road Feb. 25 to battle Iowa Western CC in Council Bluffs.
