IOWA FALLS, IOWA -- 10th-ranked Iowa Central roared away to a 38-0 halftime lead and went on to down Ellsworth, 66-17, in ICCAC football action Saturday at Cadet Field.

The Panthers did all of their scoring in the 4th quarter when they put up 17 points on a fumble return for a TD, a long scoring pass and a field goal.

The ECC defense had a hard time stopping the big play, especially in the opening half when Iowa Central had four scoring plays of over 30 yards.  They then added to their advantage by scoring on two ECC interceptions in the third period.

Marvin Woods got the Panthers on the scoreboard when he scooped up an ICCC fumble and rambled 27 yards to the endzone in the final quarter.  Later in the 4th Sean Stephens connected with Malcolm Gillie on a 58-yard scoring pass.  Jake Vaughn added a 27-yard field goal to close out the scoring for Ellsworth.

Josh Bauer completed 7-of-12 passes for ECC and Stephens was 3-for-10.  David Hall led the Panthers on the ground with 62 yards on 10 attempts.  Stephens gained 31 yards on five tries and Marice Whitlock added 26 on 10 carries.

The Panthers head to Colorado Springs, Colo., next Saturday to square off with Air Force Prep.
