Leanne Lowry joined the Ellsworth Community College volleyball coaching staff as an assistant volleyball coach in 2024. Before being named the ECC assistant coach, Lowry was a club coach at Boost Volleyball Club in Iowa City, Iowa. She coached there for two years (2022-2024) at the 12’s and 13’s level, as well as coaching at camps, clinics, and lessons.

Leanne Lowry is a 2024 graduate from the University of Iowa. She played volleyball there during her freshman and sophomore years of college (2020-2022). Lowry was a defensive specialist who played in 25 matches with six starts and accumulated 62 digs. She also received Academic All-Big Ten awards for both seasons and was a letterwinner. Leanne Lowry committed to the University of Iowa in 2016 in 8th grade, and was also considering Baylor, Colorado State, Creighton, Dayton, and Nebraska. During her time as a student athlete, Leanne pursued a degree in Biomedical Sciences BS, a certificate in Disability Studies, and is currently applying to physician assistant schools.

Prior to moving to Iowa, Lowry attended Castle View High School in Castle Rock, Colorado. She was a varsity starter for four years who amassed 2,177 digs, 6.0 digs per set, 1,614 receptions, 256 kills, 154 assists, and 178 service aces over her career. In 2017, she helped the Sabercats win the 5A State Championship for the first time in school history. Leanne Lowry holds second place for the Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA) dig record at 2,177 digs. She also holds the Castle View High School record for career aces with 178, career digs with 2,177, and the season record for digs with 736 in 2017. She was All State as both an outside hitter and libero, a 4 time Academic All-State and All-Conference winner, on the AVCA Phenom Watch List, a 2019 Colorado Gatorade Player of the Year Nominee, a 2019 Under Armour All-American Honorable Mention, and the 2020 Castle View Female Athlete of the Year.
