IOWA FALLS, IOWA -- Ellsworth notched a key ICCAC volleyball victory Thursday night, beating Northeast (Neb.) CC, 3-1, at Dittmer Gym. The teams split the first 2 sets, ECC winning set 1, 25-18, and the visitors taking set 2, 25-23. The Panthers secured their 25th win of the fall by taking the next 2 sets, 25-22 and 26-24. The 25 match wins for ECC ties Kirkwood for the most of any conference team. Ellsworth is 6-3 in the league.
Ana Clara Cuartero led Ellsworth at the net with her 19 kills and she hit .327. Manon Morillon had 13 kills and served 5 aces. ECC had 3 players with 20 or more digs, led by Ludine Charron's 23. Morillon and Cuartero had 20 each. ECC has had its 2 highest digs totals of the season in the last 2 matches -- 56 in this one after recording 53 in a win at Iowa Lakes Tuesday night. Elitsa Peneva had 26 assists and Dallymar Panell added 19. Natalie See was in on 4 blocks.
