Panthers Take Road Loss at MCC

MARSHALLTOWN, IOWA -- In a conference matchup Wednesday night, Marshalltown CC won 3 straight close sets against Ellsworth CC, the Tigers prevailing 25-20, 25-23, 25-23.

The Panthers got off to quick starts in the first two sets, building leads of 6-1 and 7-1, but the Tigers got untracked and pulled out the decisions.  ECC held a 23-21 advantage late in set three, but Marshalltown closed out the match by scoring the final 4 points of the night.

Sofia Betteni and Ana Clara Cuartero had 12 kills each for ECC.  Dallymar Panell led with 24 assists and she and Betteni both served 3 aces.  Cuartero paced the Panthers with 22 digs with Betteni chipping in 17.  Natalie See led in blocks with 3.  

The Panthers will play 4 matches in 2 days this weekend at Rochester Community and Technical College in Minnesota.
