Back in Win Column For ECC

INVER GROVE HEIGHTS, MINNESOTA -- After absorbing their first loss of the fall season the previous match, the Ellsworth Panthers got back on track on Saturday by taking a pair of matches at a tournament in Minnesota.  ECC took only 3 sets to beat both Minnesota North-Mesabi Range (25-14, 25-15, 25-23) and Dakota County Tech (25-17, 25-12, 25-8) to boost its record to 10-1.  Nine of the 10 victories have been in straight sets.

In the first match of the day, Ellsworth got 12 kills from Manon Morillon and 11 from Ana Clara CuarteroElitsa Peneva recorded 26 assists and Dallymar Panell 12.  Cuartero led in digs with 17, Ludine Charron had 14 and Panell 13.

Morillon slammed 11 kills in the match with DCTC and Cuartero added 9 as the Panthers hit .403.  Panell and Peneva shared setting duties and had 28 assists.  ECC pounded 13 aces, 5 of them by Morillon.  Charron led the defense with 13 digs and Natalie See provided 4 blocks.

The Panthers are back in action at Marshalltown CC on Sept. 6.
