CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA -- Playing their initial ICCAC match of the season, the ECC volleyball team sustained its first loss on Wednesday night, falling to nationally-ranked Kirkwood CC in straight sets, 25-9, 25-21, 25-9.

The Panthers could muster only a dozen kills, 3 of them by both Ludine Charron and Ana Clara Cuartero.  Elitsa Peneva had 6 assists.  Dallymar Panell served a pair of aces.  The Panthers recorded 43 digs, 10 apiece by Sofia Betteni and Gabi Burton.  Adriana Ramos and Cuartero had 2 blocks each.

Next up is a trip to Minnesota for matches against Minnesota North-Mesabi Range and Dakota County Tech this Saturday.
