ECC Volleyball Loses Road Match at Marshalltown

MARSHALLTOWN, IOWA -- The Ellsworth volleyball squad had a tough time on Saturday against Iowa Valley Community College District foe, Marshalltown CC, getting swept by the Tigers, 25-14, 25-22, 25-23.

It was a rough match all-around for the Panthers, who only had 23 kills and 33 digs and hit just .182.  The statistical leaders were Yoliann De Jesus-Tejedor with six kills and Gabi Damiano with five, Nuria Bravo Santos with a dozen assists, Emma Rosonke with three ace serves, and Haley Forge and Damano with nine and eight digs, respectively.  De Jesus-Tejedor picked up two blocks, upping her season total to 90, good for 4th place on the ECC single-season list.

Ellsworth heads to Iowa Lakes next Wednesday needing a win to keep their season alive.  A victory against the Lakers would put ECC into the ICCAC postseason tournament field.
