MCC Takes ECC in Four Sets

IOWA FALLS, IOWA -- The Ellsworth volleyball team took the first set, but visiting Marshalltown CC stormed back to win the next three sets and the match at Ditmer Gym Tuesday night.  The Panthers won by a 25-20 decision before the Tigers prevailed 25-18, 25-13, 25-22.

Emma Rosonke led Ellsworth at the net with nine kills and a hitting percentage of .296.  Haley Forge and Gabi Damiano each had seven kills and Louise Lion contributed six kills and she hit .308.  Hanna Forge had 19 assists, Haley Forge served four aces and the Panthers had a season-best 74 digs, with five players getting at least nine.  Damiano led the way with 21 digs, Alondra Acevedo had 13, Haley Forge 12, Alyssa Morgan 10 and Hanna Forge nine.  Rosonke and Katie Winter had three blocks apiece.

The next three matches for ECC are on the road:  at Kirkwood on Wednesday, at Dakota County Tech Friday, and at Waverly against the Wartburg JV on Sept. 13.
