Panthers Make it 2 in a Row

Iowa Falls, Iowa -- Coming off their first win of the season, the Ellsworth volleyball team backed up Sunday's performance against Southwestern CC with another impressive match, knocking off visiting Northeast (Neb.) CC, 3-1, on Tuesday night.  Just as they did in the SWCC match, the Panthers divided the first two sets, then rolled to wins in the next two sets for the victory.  ECC started with a 25-19 decision in the opening set, then saw the Hawks win 25-16.  Ellsworth went up 2-1 with a 25-18 margin and closed out the match by winning 25-20.

The winners got contributions throughout the lineup with three players registering nine or more kills and five credited with 10 or more assists.  Haley Forge led the way with 11 kills, followed by nine each from Gabi Damiano and Jade Galligo.  Damiano topped the Panthers with her 16 digs.  Forge, Meghan VanDePol and Kaitlyn Baer all had 11 and Vitoria Kazanovski 10.  Kazanovski piled up 34 assists and tied for the team lead with five ace serves.  Ellsworth totaled 16 aces, giving them 31 over the last two matches.  Forge also served five aces.  ECC tallied a season-best 11 blocks as Katie Winter led with four.

 The Panthers try to make it three straight wins when they play at Iowa Lakes on Sunday.
