For the first time this year, Ellsworth Community College has lost two games in a row. After keeping the game with top-ranked Kirkwood Community College relatively close, the visitors were rocked by unranked DMACC.

The 17th-rated Panthers (14-3, 7-2) shot just 27.5 percent from the floor and were one of 13 from beyond the arc.

ECC found itself down by eight (25-17) after the first 10 minutes and things went from bad to worse after that. The Bears (13-6, 6-3) outscored the Panthers 22-9 in the second stanza to lead 47-26 at the break. Coming out of the half, ECC could not get its feet offensively and were outscored by 12 and 16 in the third and fourth quarters.

Not helping the poor shooting was turnovers. The Bears forced 26, including 11 steals. Usually one of the Panthers strengths, they could not get to the boards. DMACC out rebounded ECC by nearly 20 (46 to 28).

While the visitors only drained one triple, the Bears made 11 and were 43.9 percent from the floor. The hosts had five in double figures, led by Mary Walker (26) and Chloe Costello (21) both over 20-points scored. The Panthers had 10 of its 11 players score, led by Ella Sharar and Favour Anyaele. Both finished with 13 points. Anyaele tallied eight rebounds and five blocks while Sharar had seven boards and two steals.
