Ellsworth Community College opened the 2024-25 season with a dominating performance at the Koningsmark Klassic.

The Panthers started the weekend with a 79-51 win over Elgin Community College. The Panthers built a nine-point lead (22-13) after the first 10 minutes and built the advantage from there.

Four players were in double figures, led by Ella Sharar – an Iowa Falls-Alden alum. In her first collegiate game, the freshman finished with a double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds. Defensively, she added five steals in the win. Favour Anyaele also had double digit points and boards. The sophomore tallied 15 points and 13 rebounds. Marin Agustsdottir (17) and Laia Santanach were in double figures.

On day two, ECC absolutely dismantled Wilbur Wright College. The Rams were 0-16 from downtown and shot just 15.9 percent from the floor as the Panthers ran away with the 113-17 win.

ECC jumped out to a 29-4 lead after the first 10 minutes and the difference swelled to 63-11 by the half. The Panther defense never allowed double figures in a quarter.

Six different ECC players were in double figures, once again led by Sharar. The freshman outscored Wilbur Wright on her own with 20 points and nabbed 11 rebounds. She was nine of 14 from the floor. Santanach added 19 points and six steals. The freshman point guard duo of Rosario Pandero (16) and Claudia Sanz (14) were also in double digits scoring and combined for 11 assists. Agustsdottir and Nile Celaya both added 10 points in the victory.
