
IOWA FALLS, IOWA -- Playing at Dittmer Gym for the final time in the 2023-24 season, the Ellsworth women's basketball team came up short, losing an ICCAC game to Northeast (Neb.), 72-46, on Wednesday night.
ECC couldn't overcome a cold shooting night in which they made only 32.2 percent of their field goal attempts and just 4-of-23 3-point tries. They managed only 8 free throw attempts and made 4 of them. Meanwhile, NCC drained 10 3s.
The Panthers trailed 21-17 after the opening period, but were held to 29 total points over the final 3 quarters.
The leading scorers for ECC, Favour Nmecha Anyaele and Taylor Ross, each scored 9 points and Anyaele also pulled down 11 rebounds.
Ellsworth's last regular season contest is at Kirkwood CC Feb. 28.
