Panther Women Beaten by Iowa Central

FORT DODGE, IOWA -- Something that has been a season-long problem for the Ellsworth women's basketball team returned on Wednesday night and played a role in the Panthers' 75-44 defeat at Iowa Central CC.  Turnovers have hurt ECC throughout the year, but they seemingly righted the ship when they had only 6 in the most recent game against Southwestern last weekend.  But against ICCC Ellsworth turned the ball over 33 times, leading to 34 points for the Tritons.  ECC scored its second-lowest point total of the season and made only 2 3-pointers -- in 14 attempts -- while shooting just 5 free throws.  They did win the rebound battle, 40-33.

Favour Nmecha Anyaele's 15 points led Ellsworth, 12 of them coming in the 3rd quarter.  She also pulled down 8 rebounds.  Marin Lind Agustsdottir was the only other player in double figures with 11.  Taylor Ross grabbed 10 rebounds.

The Panthers take on Marshalltown CC at home on Saturday.
