IOWA FALLS, IOWA -- Despite 24 points from Marin Lind Agustsdottir the Ellsworth CC women's basketball team dropped their conference opener on Saturday, losing to Iowa Central CC, 76-59.  The Tritons opened up a 44-19 lead at intermission, a margin too much for the Panthers to overcome, even though they outscored ICCC in each of the final 2 quarters.

Agustsdottir was joined in double figures by Ingrid Martinez Guillen with 13 points and Taylor Ross with 11.  Guillen had 7 assists and Ross provided 8 rebounds.  ECC was led on the glass by Favour Nmecha Anyaele with 9 and she added 6 points and 3 blocks.

Ellsworth is on the road for 2 games this week, at Marshalltown CC Wednesday and Southeastern CC on Saturday.
