Panther Women Lose Road Game at DMACC

BOONE, IOWA -- Ashjahnelle Wilson scored 21 points, but the Ellsworth women's basketball team lost an ICCAC road contest at DMACC on Saturday, 82-58.

Wilson was one of 2 Panthers in double figures.  Andrea Aragon Garcia poured in 18 points, thanks to 4 3-pointers.  Key'Lajaha Jefferson Putman chipped in 9 points and Shamika Maria had 8.

The Panthers were competitive throughout, trailing 20-13 after one quarter and 34-27 after a 2nd period in which each team scored 14 points.  DMACC was able to get a little more separation after the 3rd quarter, taking a 56-44 advantage into the final stanza.

ECC will try to avenge a 63-55 loss to Iowa Lakes earlier this month when they travel to Estherville to take on the Lakers this Wednesday.  The Panthers will be back in Dittmer Gym to battle Iowa Central next Saturday.
