Iowa Central Pulls Away From Panther Women

FORT DODGE, IOWA -- Iowa Central turned a one-point lead late in the 1st half into a 7-point halftime edge, then outscored visiting Ellsworth CC by 15 points in the final 20 minutes for a 74-52 win Saturday afternoon.

The score was 25-24 toward the end of the 2nd quarter before ICCC upped the advantage to 32-25 by intermission.  The Tritons pulled away in the last 2 periods to post the win.

The Panthers were led in scoring by Key'Lajaha Jefferson Putman and Shamika Maria with 13 points apiece.  Jefferson Putman added 7 steals.  Ashjahnelle Wilson scored 9 points and grabbed 6 rebounds.  Arleen Chanez paced ECC on the glass with 8 rebounds.  Ingrid Martinez Guillen had 4 assists.

Ellsworth won't play again until taking on the Mount Mercy JV at home on Jan. 2, then host Iowa Lakes Jan. 4.
