Ellsworth Women Return Home, Lose to NIACC

IOWA FALLS, IOWA -- NIACC used a big second half, in which they outscored Ellsworth 48-28, to record an ICCAC victory on Wednesday night at Dittmer Gym.  The Trojans won 75-50 and used a 26-point 4th quarter to pull away over the final 10 minutes.

The Panthers had a good shooting night, making 45.5 percent of their shots and going 5-of-16 from 3-point range.  They had 17 assists on 20 made field goals.  But they hurt themselves with 32 turnovers.

Ingrid Martinez Guillen led the ECC scoring with 13 points.  Ashjahnelle Wilson chipped in 12 points and had 4 assists.  The Panthers got a boost from Shamika Maria, who came off the bench to made all 4 of her field goal attempts, one of them a 3-pointer, and score 9 points.  Maria also paced the Panthers with 7 rebounds.

ECC is idle until a Dec. 14 home game against Southwestern.
