COUNCIL BLUFFS, IOWA -- The Ellsworth CC women's basketball team played its first Iowa Community College Athletic Conference game of the season Saturday afternoon and got blitzed by Iowa Western, 100-36.
The Panthers scored 15 points in the opening period, but were held to 7 points in each of the final 3 quarters in dropping their first league game.
ECC did not have anyone reach double figures in scoring. Ingrid Martinez Guillen hit a trio of 3-pointers and topped the Panthers with 9 points. She also had a couple of steals. Andrea Aragon Garcia scored 8 points and Key'Lajaha Jefferson Putman handed out 3 assists.
Ellsworth has its first conference home game this Wednesday when it welcomes NIACC to Dittmer Gym.
