COUNCIL BLUFFS, IOWA -- The Ellsworth Panthers went on the road Saturday and ran into a buzzsaw at Iowa Western CC, losing 106-38 to the No. 8 team in the nation.
The Panthers fell behind 25-6 after the first period and the winners steadily pulled away after that. ECC was limited to only 14 made field goals and just two 3-pointers, both of them by Shamika Maria.
Autumn Shull led the Panthers in both points and rebounds with 8 and 7, respectively. Alyssa Civitak added 7 points and Teresa Paulsen blocked 3 shots.
The last regular season contest for Ellsworth will be a road game at Marshalltown CC on Tuesday night. It will be a chance for ECC to avenge an 84-80 loss to MCC earlier in the season.
