IOWA FALLS, IOWA -- A five-point halftime deficit turned into a 20-point defeat as the Ellsworth women encountered offensive problems in the last 20 minutes and fell to Iowa Central, 68-48, Saturday at Dittmer Gym.
After falling behind 26-11 after one quarter, the Panthers put together a strong 2nd period, scoring 23 points to pull to within 39-34 at intermission. However, ECC could net only 14 points in the 2nd half -- just 7 in each quarter -- and Iowa Central completed the season sweep of their league rival.
Ellsworth got good production off the bench with Dreasha Talley leading their scoring with 9 points and Shamika Maria adding 8. Each player also pulled down 5 rebounds. Autumn Shull grabbed 13 rebounds to increase her team-leading average to 8.4. It was Shull's 12th game this season with a double-digit rebound total.
The Panthers have their final regular season home contest this Wednesday when they take on NIACC.
