IOWA FALLS, IOWA -- Kirkwood, ranked 2nd in the latest NJCAA DII women's basketball poll, flexed its muscles Tuesday night at Dittmer Gym, burying Ellsworth, 109-35.
The Eagles tallied 13 straight points to begin the game and led, 26-2, after the opening quarter. From there, KCC widened the margin on the way to its 18th win of the season.
Held to only 7 made field goals, ECC got over half of its points from the free throw line, where it went 18-for-23. That included a perfect 8-for-8 performance from Aaliyah Chambers, who led the Panthers with 10 points. Both Alyssa Civitak and Halle Miller scored 7 points. Teresa Paulsen topped Ellsworth on the boards with 6.
ECC returns to ICCAC action Thursday night when it hosts Marshalltown CC in Iowa Falls.
