ECC Women Knocked Off by Northeast

IOWA FALLS, IOWA -- The Ellsworth Panthers couldn't quite overcome a cold second quarter and lost to Northeast (Neb.), 68-57, at Dittmer Gym Wednesday night.

The ECC women trailed by a single point, 15-14, after the opening 10 minutes, but managed only one field goal in a decisive second period.  The Panthers were down, 36-22, at intermission and despite outscoring NCC, 17-11, in the third quarter, couldn't climb all the way back.

A bright spot were the season-best 54 rebounds for the Panthers, but that was offset by a season-high 38 turnovers.  Autumn Shull, the lone starter who didn't reach double figures in points, led ECC on the glass with 11 boards.  Aaliyah Chambers topped the scorers with 19 and she added 7 rebounds.  Hydiyah Robinson just missed a double-double with 11 points and 9 boards.  Victaeja Leavy and Halle Miller scored 8 points each and Miller grabbed 9 rebounds.  Off the bench, Teresa Paulsen contributed 6 points and 8 boards.

The Panthers are down to one more game before the holiday break:  an afternoon battle with Iowa Central on Saturday in Fort Dodge.
