Slow Start Hurts ECC Women at DMACC

Boone, Iowa -- The ECC Panthers fell behind 21-2 at the end of the first quarter and couldn't gain any momentum the rest of the way in losing to DMACC, 69-41, on Saturday on the road.

After the slow beginning, Ellsworth faced a 36-15 deficit at halftime and despite an 18-point third quarter saw its season record drop to 1-4.

Ellie Barrows was the lone player in double figures for the Panthers.  She scored 10 points and has taken over the team lead in scoring at 10.8 points a game.  Autumn Shull led ECC on the glass with 8 rebounds, one above her season average.  Jada Mullinex led the defensive effort with four steals.

Ellsworth will be home to square off with Iowa Lakes on Wednesday and then go to Southwestern Saturday.
