ECC Women Fall to Iowa Central

Iowa Falls, Iowa -- Playing at home for the first time in the 2021 season, the Ellsworth women's basketball team dropped a 76-51 decision to Iowa Central at the Dittmer Gymnasium Wednesday night.

The visiting Tritons put up 23 points in the first quarter and the Panthers had a difficult time getting back in the game after that as their season record fell to 0-2.

Ellsworth got some good production from a couple of reserves: Victaeja Leavy led the ECC scoring with 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting from the field and 2-of-3 from behind the arc, and Dreasha Talley added nine points, making 4-of-5 field goal attempts.  Leavy also handed out six assists and Talley blocked a pair of shots.  Ellie Barrows, Autumn Shull and Jada Mullinix scored seven points apiece.  Halle Miller led ECC in rebounds with 10, six of them on the offensive glass.  Shull collected seven boards.  And Keara Williams had six steals.

The Panthers go to West Burlington to battle Southeastern CC on Saturday afternoon at 1:00.
