Panthers fall late against the Bears

The opportunities were there, but the Ellsworth Community College women just couldn't hold on against DMACC on Saturday.

The Panthers were tied with the visitors four times with seven lead changes before the Bears pulled away for the 77-68 decision.

The largest lead of the game was 14 in the third stanza before ECC mounted a comeback. They got to within five heading into the final 10 minutes but couldn't take down DMACC.

Keara Williams finished with a triple-double, scoring 19 points, nabbing 14 rebounds and dishing out 10 assists. Ellie Barrows led in scoring with 20 points.

The Panthers have two home games left, hosting No. 2 Kirkwood Community College this Wednesday and Iowa Lakes on Saturday, Feb. 29.
