ECC falls in third game of the season

The Ellsworth Community College women's basketball team is still looking for a marquee win for second-year head coach Molly Greenfield. The Panthers fell by a 72-43 final to North Central Missouri College on Tuesday night. The hosts were really hurt at the line. They made it to the charity stripe often (18 attempts) but were just eight of 18. They also did not have many second chance shots, pulling down just 10 offensive boards. Two players were in double figures, Keara Williams led with 13 points, nine rebounds and four steals and Bailey Stroud finished with 12 points and four steals.

ECC then traveled to the NIACC Classic and fell 75-53 to Marshalltown Community College and 92-50 to fifth-ranked Illinois Central. In the first game, the Panthers were led by Williams led ECC with four triples and 15 points. Cheyann Marshall was also in double figures with 12. Against Illinois Central, the Cougars built a large advantage in the first half and never looked back as ECC was just 25 percent shooting for the game. Illinois Central really did their damage was on the boards. The Cougars tallied 63 rebounds. – 23 offensive. Williams once again was the Panthers leading scorer, tallying 14 points. Ellie Barrows finished with 12 and Kevonda Primes 10.
