Two top finishers for Panther sports shooting

The Ellsworth Community College Sports Shooting team hosted Southwestern on Saturday, Sept. 29 with two of their shooters taking first place.

Rex Neely (Iowa Falls, IA) took home first place beating out Southwestern's top shooter by just one point with Neely having 97 and Southwestern's Blake Binns with 96. George Haefner (Walker, IA) took 7th with a score of 86 improving his score from last week by eight targets.

Brie Pratt (Iowa Falls, IA) tied for first with Southwestern's Courtney Nielsen both with 92. In the shoot off Nielsen scored 22 to Pratt's 21 putting Pratt as runner-up. Taylor Scott (Iowa Falls, IA) had an 88 for ECC and Brittany McKinney (Iowa Falls, IA) finished off with a 65 for the Panthers. McKinney bested her last week score by 23 targets with Saturday's meet being only her 10th day at shooting ATA regulation trap targets.

Thursday, Oct. 4th ECC will be traveling to Bostic, NC to compete in the ATA's Dixie Grand National Satellite Tournament. The next head to head competition in Iowa for the Panthers will be on Oct. 13 against Iowa Central.
