IOWA FALLS, IOWA -- Twelve Ellsworth CC softball players were named to the Spring 2023 Academic All-Region teams announced by the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference.  The academic honor lists are made up of the 1st team of student-athletes with grade point averages of 3.5 and above, and the 2nd team of individuals with GPAs between 3.0 and 3.49.  A student-athlete's highest GPA was recognized, either their cumulative GPA or their spring semester only GPA. 

The Ellsworth softball players who earned 1st team recognition are Elli Han, Haley Martinez, Katie DeMaio, Kierstyn Sutton, Lauren Brennan, Maddie Harding, Madeline Myer and Marleigh Sikes.  On the 2nd team are Emma Gordon, Jocelyn Hartley, Katelynn Hursh and Miranda McClellan.

Of those awarded Spring academic honors, ten were repeat selections from the 2022 Fall Academic All-Region teams.  They are Han, DeMaio, Sutton, Brennan, Harding, Myer, Sikes, Gordon, Hartley and Hursh. 

ECC had a total of 101 student-athletes on the Spring Academic All-Region teams from 8 different squads.
