Panther Softball Drops 4 Games to DMACC

BOONE, IOWA -- DMACC dominated a four-game series with visiting Ellsworth CC, beating the Panthers, 13-1 and 13-0, on Sunday and, 18-4 and 12-1, Monday.

In the opening game, Ellsworth got its only run in the 4th inning when Lauren Brennan singled in Maddy HardingEmma Gordon also singled for ECC.  Saige Keller lasted only one inning in the circle and Brennan pitched 3 innings in relief.

ECC was limited to only 2 hits in the second contest, a double by Madeline Myer and a single by Taryn Cory.  Cory, Keller and Jocelyn Hartley combined for ECC pitching duties.

Brennan slammed a solo homer in Monday's opener.  Katie DeMaio had 2 hits including an RBI single and Gracie Pierce and Kierstyn Sutton both doubled, with Sutton's hit knocking in a run.  Harding, Brennan, Pierce and Keller scored the Ellsworth runs.  Brennan, the starter, and Hartley both pitched 2 innings.

There were 5 hits by the Panthers in the last game, 2 of them by Myer, who drove in the lone run.  Harding had a double and Miranda McClellan and Sutton both produced singles.  Cory, Keller and Hartley did the pitching with only half of DMACC's 12 runs earned.  

Ellsworth returns to action against the Mt. Mercy JV on Tuesday.
