IHCC Dumps Ellsworth Softball

IOWA FALLS, IOWA -- Visiting Indian Hills established themselves early in Thursday's softball doubleheader with Ellsworth CC, scoring 13 runs in the top of the 1st inning of the opener on the way to a sweep of the Panthers, 20-5 and 13-4.

Ellsworth got a run back in the bottom of the 1st in game one and then scored 4 in the next inning, but couldn't stop the Indian Hills offense.

The Panthers had 6 hits, including a triple by Kierstyn Sutton and a pair of hits from Gracie PierceEmma Gordon, Madeline Myer and Saige Keller also had ECC hits and Sutton knocked in 2 runs.

Keller was knocked out in the 1st inning after starting in the circle and Lauren Brennan came on and went the rest of the way with 4 1/3 innings of relief.

Game 2 was tied 3-3 after 2 frames and then Indian Hills took off.  Gordon collected 3 hits for ECC and Harding had a single and a double.  Brennan drove in a pair of runs and Harding one.  Jocelyn Hartley was the starter for Ellsworth and went 4 innings with Sutton finishing up.

ECC will host Iowa Lakes for 4 games this weekend with twinbills at Legion Field Friday and Saturday.
