Ellsworth Softball Blitzed Again By DMACC

IOWA FALLS, IOWA -- The Ellsworth softball team experienced the power of the nation's top-rated DII team for the second time in 5 days when No. 1 DMACC routed the Panthers, 19-0 and 22-1 on Sunday.

The Bears set the tone for the day by scoring 11 runs in the 1st inning of game one.  The Panthers were held without a hit, the lone baserunner was Maggie Braniff who drew a walk.  Starter Delaney Vetter was knocked out after getting 2 outs in the 1st inning.  Asa Kesinger went the rest of the way in the circle.

DMACC pounded out 25 hits, including 4 home runs, in the second game.  Ellsworth had doubles from Lauren Brennan and Nevaeh Dice and singles by Lili Ruiz and Lauren Abram.  Brennan had the RBI, scoring Ruiz.  Cheyanne Collins absorbed the brunt of the damage pitching-wise for ECC.  She was replaced by Jocelyn Hartley and Brennan, who pitched one scoreless inning.

The Panthers are slated to take on Marshalltown CC in makeup doubleheaders on Tuesday and Wednesday.
