Iowa Lakes Community College has Ellsworth Community College's number in men's basketball.

The Lakers have won 18 of the last 19 meetings between the two squads.

Iowa Lakes (15-8, 6-6) won the first meeting in Estherville 86-78 and then in Iowa Falls in the rematch won 83-77. The visitors built a 38-26 lead after the first 10 minutes and were on top by double figures throughout much of the second half.

The Panthers (16-7, 6-6) made a run late but could not complete the comeback, falling 83-77.

No. 12 ECC was led offensively by Tre Burris. He was eight of 13 from the floor and 9 of 13 from the free throw line for a game-high 27 points. He also added four steals and five assists. The only other Panther in double figures was Jonovan Wilkinson with 12 points.

While ECC was 14 of 25 from the charity stripe, the visitors shot 81 percent and were 26 of 32 from the line. The loss evens the Panthers conference mark at 6-6, tied with the Lakers. DMACC and Kirkwood have started to pull away as the top two teams in the league, both with over 20 wins on the season. The Bears are 11-1 in the league and the Eagles are 10-2. Both Iowa Western and NIACC have seven conference victories.
