ECC Men Run Away From Dakota County Tech

IOWA FALLS, IOWA -- The Ellsworth Panthers played a final non-conference tuneup on Saturday afternoon, blistering Dakota County Tech, 107-87, at Dittmer Gym for their 7th win in a row, and in the process running their home record to 13-1 for the season.  ECC could play one more game in Dittmer Gym if they wind up hosting the Region XI postseason championship game next month.  They could still tie for the regular season ICCAC crown with a win at Kirkwood on Wednesday and a DMACC loss at NIACC.  The Panthers head into their last regular season contest with a 14-3 league mark; DMACC is 15-2.

It was the latest in a string of high-scoring games for Ellsworth, which has scored more than 105 points 3 times and 95 once in the last 4 games.  They have topped the century mark in scoring 7 times and upped their season scoring average to 88.1 points a game.

The Panthers had another good shooting game, too, making 48.6 percent of their field goal tries and hitting 31-of-39 free throws.  Their 6 turnovers were the fewest this year.

Thanks to 11-of-11 free throw shooting, Jordan Glenn-Hawkins led ECC with 26 points.  Arlandus Keyes followed with 24, Clinton Efinda scored 16 with a team-best 9 rebounds, Cameron Liggins had 12 points, Christopher Willis 11 and Lamarana Diallo 10.  Jaron Crews provided 7 assists.  The Ellsworth attack was able to offset 46 points by DCTC's Manny Montgomery.

ECC will attempt to win its 25th game of the year at Kirkwood Wednesday night and complete a sweep of the Eagles, whom they defeated, 98-84, earlier in Iowa Falls.
