Ellsworth Men Stay Undefeated in ICCAC Play

IOWA FALLS, IOWA -- The Ellsworth men's basketball team used arguably its best shooting night of the season to post an 88-76 victory over Iowa Western at Dittmer Gym on Wednesday night.  The win was the 4th in a row for the Panthers, 3 of them coming in league play where they are one of only 2 undefeated teams remaining.  ECC is one-half game behind the other unbeaten, DMACC.

Ellsworth made half of its field goal tries (33-of-66) and 10-of-21 3-pointers in dispatching the Reivers for its 11th win of the year against only 2 losses.  Only DMACC has more overall victories than the Panthers.

ECC put 3 players in double figures and 3 more had 9 points.  Leading the way was Jaron Crews with 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting that included 4 3s.  Chimobi Ikegwukura, named the DII player of the week earlier, had 17 points and a team-best 8 rebounds.  Arlandus Keyes was the other double-digit scorer with 11 and he handed out 6 assists.  With 9 points were Jordan Glenn-Hawkins, Clinton Efinda and Cameron Liggins.

Iowa Western shot 51.8 percent from the field and 11-of-25 from distance but committed 21 turnovers to 12 for the Panthers.  ECC's largest lead was 20 in the 2nd half.

Ellsworth closes out the 1st half of the season on Saturday when it hosts Southwestern CC.
