Panther Men Dealt First Loss

TRENTON, MISSOURI -- The 6th-ranked Ellsworth CC men's basketball team saw a 2nd-half lead slip away and they sustained their 1st loss of the season Tuesday night, falling on the road to North Central Missouri College, 85-80.

The Panthers went to the lockerroom up 43-36 at intermission, but were outscored, 49-37, over the final 20 minutes as their season-opening 5-game win streak came to an end.

ECC made 13-of-28 3-point attempts with Jaron Crews and Arlandus Keyes draining 5 each and Jordan Glenn-Hawkins the other 3.  Crews led the scoring with 28 points and Keyes chipped in 20.  Glenn-Hawkins was the other double-figure scorer with 11.  Bessanty Saragba had 9 points, 9 rebounds and 3 blocks and Zeke Thompkins had 8 points, and team-highs with 10 rebounds and 6 assists.

Ellsworth looks to bounce back from the Tuesday defeat as it heads to Iowa Western CC this weekend for a pair of games.  They'll play 2 Kansas schools -- Hesston and Labette on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
