Panthers On to Semis After Beating Iowa Central

ESTHERVILLE, IOWA -- Ellsworth CC moved into the semifinals of the Region XI postseason tourney by completing a season sweep of rival Iowa Central on Saturday night.  The Panthers defeated the Tritons, 74-68, to make it 3 wins over ICCC this year and 22 victories overall.

ECC was on top by as many as 13 points in the opening half, which ended with Ellsworth ahead, 40-30.  The Tritons got no closer than 4 points in the final period.

Shawn Fulcher, coming off a 40-point effort in the previous game against NIACC, topped the Panthers with 21 and he added 3 assists.  Jordan Glenn-Hawkins chipped in 15, Dior Davis 12 and Arlandus Keyes 10 points to the ECC effort.  Saliou Seye was a force on the glass gathering 15 rebounds.  Ellsworth owned a 60-43 edge on the boards.

The number-4 seed, ECC will battle top-seeded Iowa Lakes in the semifinal round on Sunday on the Lakers' home floor.
