IOWA FALLS, IOWA -- Four members of the Ellsworth CC men's basketball team were placed on the NJCAA All-Academic Team for the 2021-22 academic year.

Pietro Vannini, a sophomore, earned a place on the All-Academic 1st Team with a GPA of 4.0.  Vannini was also a member of the All-Academic Team for the second year in a row.

Three players -- sophomores Junior Bodden, Srdjan Kopunovic and Tom Stanley -- made the All-Academic 3rd team with GPAs between 3.60 and 3.79.   

In the 2021-22 academic year, Ellsworth had four of its athletic squads gain Team of the Year honors and 45 ECC student-athletes earned the All-Academic award, up from 28 the year before.  Of the 45 individuals who qualified, 25 were sophomores and 20 were freshmen.  There were nine repeat honorees from last year including Vannini and Kopunovic.
