Ellsworth Men Suffer Cold-Shooting Night at Iowa Lakes

ESTHERVILLE, IOWA -- The Ellsworth Panthers endured their coldest-shooting game of the season on Wednesday night and lost to ICCAC co-leader Iowa Lakes, 83-45.

ECC hit just 22.6 percent of its shots (14-of-62) and that was also their percentage from behind the arc (7-of-31).  In addition, they connected on just half of their 20 free throws.  The 45 points were the Panthers' second-lowest output of the year.  The score was 33-20 at intermission, then the Lakers poured in 50 points in the final half to pull away and stay tied with Kirkwood for the league lead.

Andres Arellano, who had a season-best 13 points in the previous game, topped that with a team-high 14 points and he also blocked 4 shots.  Denneson Lucas scored 9 points for the second game in a row.  Junior Bodden led the rebounders with 7.  The Panthers got only 13 points from their starting five.

Ellsworth looks to get back on track when they play at North Central Missouri this Saturday.  The next home game is against Southwestern Feb. 2.
