Iowa Falls, IA – Ellsworth Community College (17-14, 4-6) rebounded from a frustrating 22-12 game loss to Southwestern Community College and recalibrated to win games two and three by scores of 17-3 and 12-1.

Earning starting pitching victories in those contests were Brock Adamson and Jordan Dahlof.

During game two on Friday, Adamson gave the bullpen a break and it was needed. He tossed six innings of four hit baseball, allowing just three runs. Only one of those were earned, as he struck out eight batters.

The Panthers jumped all over the Spartans in game two with 14 runs scored in the first three innings. That burst included nine in the second frame.

Caden Sammler belted a pair of homers and finished 3-4 with 4RBI. Also hitting long balls were Boston Doeschot and Connor MacAlpine. They drove in four and three runs apiece. Brandon Weigel also produced a three-hit game at the plate with three doubles and four RBI.

The final game of the series on Saturday featured a strong mound performance from Dahlof, as he kept the Spartans off the scoreboard through six innings. Dahlof allowed only three hits and struck out five, before Drew Dake recorded the final three outs.

ECC pieced together a 5-0 advantage after four innings before breaking the game open with a seven-run sixth inning in the 12-1 win.

Doeschot, Weigel and Eric McGill hit home runs to pace the offense.

Those two results were in stark contrast to Friday's opener. SWCC (7-21, 3-7) rallied from an 8-2 deficit after two innings with a 16-run sixth inning that the Panthers could not seem to get out of.

ECC Coach Kirk Clark had to use six pitchers in that game, and reliever Casey Clair took the loss after recording just one out during his stint on the mound. He allowed seven runs, but none of them were earned.

MacAlpine and Maddux O'Connor homered in the loss, as the teams combined for 26 hits in SWCC's 22-12 victory.

The Panthers are scheduled to resume play on Wednesday at NIACC.
