Enid, OK – Playing a four-game weekend series at No. 15-ranked Northern Oklahoma-Enid, the Panthers took the second game of the four-game series behind an offensive onslaught. The 20-run, 18-hit, seven-home run performance at David Allen Memorial Ballpark, home the NJCAA DII World Sieries, was the second time this season the Panther offense have put up those type of numbers. The Panthers defeated College of DuPage earlier this season, 21-9, in Millington, Tennessee.
In the victorious Game 2, it was just 2-1 after two innings. The Panthers broke the game open with a five-run third inning: started off with an Eric McGill two-run homer to right field to make it a 4-1 game. A couple batters later, Riley Schrader earned an inside the park home run that scored Boston Doeschot. Connor MacAlpine would close the inning with a home run of his own ti increase the lead to 7-1.
The Panthers would put the game out of reach in the fourth. Bryce Hoskinson homered to left field to open the inning while McGill and MacAlpine would collect their second home runs later in the inning, too. Hoskinson would add another home run to his day in the fifth to give the Panthers a 20-1 advantage.
Boston Doeschot completed three innings of work on the mound, striking out seven of his nine outs, while surrendering just two hits and two walks against the 15th-ranked Jets.
The Panthers dropped the opener of the series 13-2, and both Sundays games; 6-3 and 7-2, respectively. The Panthers will swing by Centerville, Iowa on their way back Monday to face off with Indian Hills - a doubleheader moved up from Wednesday due to potential inclement weather.
